Rocky outcrops, the aurora borealis, an irresistible call of adventure to the North… And municipal planning! Come join Sarah Bercu, Planner with the City of Yellowknife, on a planning tour of the capital city of the Northwest Territories.  Topics will include an overview of Yellowknife’s planning context and a deep dive into one of the most unique land use challenges: dog mushing.

Her work in design and planning has taken her  to the Middle East, the Canadian East Coast, and across the Northwest Territories. She is currently a planner with the City of Yellowknife, and works on a variety of current and long-range planning projects.  She is passionate about the built environment and social planning issues.
