Inspiration Grant

The Inspiration Grant recognizes and supports initiatives that inspire innovation, elevate planning practice, and strengthen knowledge-sharing across Alberta, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.

The Alberta Professional Planners Institute offers:

Monetary grants to assist Regulated members with expenses incurred to support running an event or activity that shares new, innovative, or creative perspectives on planning OR presenting and attending a national, international, or APPI Conference. The grant MAY support post-secondary requirements at the PhD level or postdoctoral student research but not research that is part of a compensated academic position. Award winners will receive between $1,000 - $3,000.

Who can apply?

The Inspiration Grant is open to all Regulated APPI members in good standing. Applicants may submit for both options but can only win one grant. APPI is committed to equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility (EDIA). Those individuals who identify as First Nations, Inuit, Métis, LGBTQ2S+, persons with disabilities, women and other equity deserving groups, are encouraged to apply for these grants.

APPI would like to recognize and support the great work being done by members and strongly encourages creative, innovative, and non-traditional deliverables that meaningfully contribute to the planning profession, and encourages you to apply for funding assistance via the APPI Inspiration Grant.
