APPI Calgary Event: Dog Park Walk and Talk

Bring your dogs for a fun and informative Dog Park Walk and Talk, combining learning, movement, and social connection in Calgary’s East Village and Culture + Entertainment District (The C+E).

Led by Joanna Pesta, Senior Manager, Programming and Events at Calgary Municipal Land Corporation (CMLC) – the master developer behind East Village and The C+E – this session will explore how thoughtfully planned dog parks can support vibrant, connected communities.

Starting at the EV Dog Park, Joanna will share insights into dog park development, including location selection, integration with surrounding community amenities, programming strategies, and ongoing maintenance considerations.

We’ll then walk together with our dogs to Pixel Park, where the focus will shift to temporary dog park considerations and how flexible public spaces can support event programming, activation, and community use.

The afternoon will wrap up at a nearby dog friendly patio, offering an opportunity to network with fellow dog lovers, planners, and city building professionals.

Dogs welcome. Comfortable walking shoes recommended.
