APPI Edmonton Event - Regional Transportation Planning: Learning from Metro Portland

Come learn about the importance of a regional approach to transportation planning by drawing from the experiences of Metro Portland, Oregon. Charlie Hales, professional planner and former Mayor of Portland, will highlight the bold decisions Portland and its regional partners made to transform transportation planning through integrated land use development. Mr. Hales will highlight the similarities of the Edmonton and Portland Metropolitan Regions and share lessons learned in regional implementation. As the Edmonton Metropolitan Region Board embarks on an integrated regional transportation master plan, Mr. Hales will provide inspiration to planners across the Edmonton Region to work together to achieve a shared vision of efficient and sustainable transportation.
