Join APPI as we welcome in Spring by talking about community gardens and wondering: do they help grow communities?

Speakers will commence at 5:15pm.

Mike Kozlowski - Steel Pony Farm

Mike has been working to build community resilience through local food production since the inception of Steel Pony Farm in 2010.

Ken Lehman - City of Red Deer

One of Ken's tasks over the past 7 years in working as the City's Parks Ecological & Planning Specialist has been to coordinate the City's gardening initiatives.

Showing of the Film - 'A Lot of Common' which follows teh construction of a community garden built on a previously vacant lot above a subway tunnel entrance in Berkley, California. It is a glimpse into the lives of a handful of extraordinary neighbours who face conflicts head-on in ways that have relevance to communities globally.

A light dinner will be served at 5:00pm with the speakers commencing at 5:15pm.

This event will be eligible for 3.0 structured learning units.
