Ducks Unlimited Canada has recently launched a new, online boreal wetlands training, Wetlands 101: An Introduction to Boreal Wetlands. This online training is designed to introduce participants to Canada’s boreal wetlands and is aimed at practitioners from government, industry, consulting and other backgrounds.
DUC’s Wetlands 101: An Introduction to Boreal Wetlands (online) covers:
- Boreal wetland identification using soils, vegetation and water movement
- Wetland classification according to the Canadian Wetland Classification System
- Boreal wetland functions, including wetland hydrology
- Potential operational challenges to working in and around boreal wetlands and approaches to address these challenges
- Methods to avoid or minimize adverse effects to wetlands
