Join a Committee

For just a few hours a month, you can further APPI’s mission and vision serving as a member of one of our Committees. For more information, visit the Committees page, which lists the responsibilities and purposes of each one.

APPI is committed to equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility (EDIA) on positions of influence and leadership within the Institute. As such, APPI welcomes volunteers from individuals who identify as First Nations, Inuit, Métis, LGBTQ2S+, persons with disabilities, women and other equity deserving groups.

Volunteer Current Opportunities

Volunteers Needed – PSB PLAR Assessors
Are you looking for a way to give back to the planning profession?

The Professional Standards Board for the Planning Profession in Canada is looking to recruit new Prior Learning Assessment Recognition (PLAR) volunteers to help evaluate PLAR applications for their eligibility to enter the PSB’s certification process.
PLAR assessors must be a full (certified) member of a Provincial /Territorial Institute or Association (PTIA) and an RPP or LPP in good standing for at least 7 years.  A PSB PLAR orientation is available for reference. PLAR assessors receive an honorarium for their time.

If you are interested in becoming a PLAR assessor, please contact Larissa Johnston, PSB Executive Director, at [email protected] and include a copy of your CV/resume.

Help others on the Road to RPP

Would you like to help young professionals advance their career as an RPP? If you have been an RPP for 3 or more years, you qualify to volunteer as a Sponsor or Mentor to a Candidate Member. You may also volunteer to help evaluate applications of Candidates taking the Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) route.
