CIP/APPI 2012 Conference – The Great Exchange: Putting Ideas into Action
Sponsorship, Exhibitor, and Student Volunteer Opportunities
We are pleased to invite your organization to participate in the 2012 Canadian Institute of Planners and Alberta Professional Planners Institute Conference. The Conference is titled The Great Exchange: Putting Ideas into Action, and will be held October 9 – 12, 2012 in Banff, Alberta. CIP and APPI greatly value the support of corporate sponsors in their efforts to deliver a high quality program.
The 2012 CIP/APPI Conference is about DOING and sharing ideas about how planners have played a critical role in helping to facilitate change by putting their ideas into action. The conference will bring together planners, architects, academics, engineers and policy makers from around the world to explore how our profession is getting things done on the ground. We anticipate 500–700 delegates to be in attendance at this conference.
For all the details and contact information, please download the Exhibitor and Sponsorship Information Package from the conference website.
Opportunities exist for 20 to 25 students to directly participate in the on-site management of the conference. We need volunteers to help with various tasks including: audio-visual assistance, workshop coordination and acting as speaker guides, to name only a few. By volunteering, you automatically qualify for a partial rebate on your conference registration fee.
What’s the fine print in all this?
• Preference will be given to student members of CIP;
• Volunteer opportunities will be assigned on a first-come/first-served basis with regard for interests and abilities;
• Volunteers will not be formally placed until the conference registration and fee payment is complete;
• For all student volunteers who volunteer for a minimum of eight hours, CIP will refund half of the registration fee paid.
Download a copy of the Volunteer Application Form. The deadline for applications is August 31, 2012.
Banff, Alberta, in the majestic Canadian Rockies, is the setting for the 2012 conference. The beautiful and natural mountain surroundings will provide a forum for exchange where, blue skies will inspire blueprints for enacting change; mountain peaks will become peeks into innovation; fresh air will lend itself to fresh ideas and thinking; winding rivers will swirl in an open dialogue of our achievements; and the magnitude of a mountain scenery will emulate the importance of our work from the ground up.
We are planners. We are champions of change and progress. We are more than plans, we are outcomes. So put YOUR ideas into action in 2012 and join The Great Exchange.
On behalf of the Conference Organizing Committee, we look forward to welcoming all delegates to Banff in October 2012.
