Housing Forward: 2026 Prairies Affordable Housing Summit

The first City of Edmonton-hosted, prairie-wide gathering focused specifically on practical delivery of affordable and non-market housing solutions. Convened by the City of Edmonton, the Summit brings together municipalities, developers, housing providers, planners, Indigenous housing leaders, and funders from across Western Canada.

The program is designed to move beyond discussion and provide participants with:

Applied tools and delivery models they can implement immediately
Opportunities to build cross-sector and cross-jurisdictional partnerships
Exposure to innovations and lessons learned across the Prairies
Site tours highlighting replicable projects in Edmonton
Dialogue with funders and policy leaders shaping housing investment
The Summit will feature senior government leadership, national housing experts, and sector practitioners shaping housing delivery across Western Canada, including voices advancing social innovation, housing policy, and municipal leadership.

Featured speakers include:

Carolyn Whitzman, University of Toronto School of Cities -  advisor on housing supply scaling and federal policy tools
Andrea Nemtin, CEO, Social Innovation Canada - leading national initiatives in social finance and mission-driven collaboration
A fireside chat featuring former mayors Don Iveson and David Miller, discussing cities, housing, and climate resilience
