Help shape the discussion at Connection, CIP and APPI’s national conference! This important committee reviews conference proposals and works together to curate an engaging selection of programming. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, August 30. Join APPI and planners from the City of Calgary for a walking tour of Inglewood – Calgary’s oldest neighbourhood. The 1.5 hour tour will highlight several exciting recent and ongoing projects and sites in the area including heritage planning, redevelopment along 9 Avenue, the Main Streets program, and Green Line. Following the tour, attendees are invited to join us at a local brewery for networking. Tour Guides: A map and location details will be sent to registrants via email. What happened after their fateful demise? Was demolition truly the end? Or do they live on hidden in plain sight…? Look no further! “Relics & Remnants” will take you on a tour of Edmonton’s downtown area exploring the curious, and largely forgotten, architectural fragments of historic buildings that have been left behind after demolition or repurposed. As we re-discover these urban tombstones from our past, you will learn about the architecture of our city, how it’s evolved, and what lessons these fragments can teach us about design, our city and historic preservation. Call for Volunteers for the City of Calgary CPC and CUDRPVolunteers are required for consideration as APPI's nominees to serve on the Calgary Planning Commission (CPC) and the Calgary Urban Design Review Panel (CUDRP) APPI has been invited to put forward non-binding nominations for appointment to the CPC and the CUDRP. If you are a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) and interested in being considered as an APPI nominee to serve on the CPC or CUDRP, please review the applicable CPC or UDRP position description, send an email to the APPI office confirming your interest with a cover letter with a resume of no more than two single-sided pages and a completed applicable CPC or CUPD Qualifications Form, to the APPI office by August 29, 2023.
