In many cities around the world contactless smart cards are an integral part of your day to day life, providing you access to regional transit systems (Presto Card (Toronto)) and/or retail businesses and services (Octopus Card (Hong Kong)). In 2021, a smart fare card called the Arc Card was rolled out to U-Pass folders, transit staff, and some adult-fare riders as a pilot program, expanding to include adult-fares in some member municipalities in 2022. Join Sarah Feldman (Edmonton Transit Service), Lindsey Radford (City of Fort Saskatchewan) and Cameron Grayson (Transit Innovation Programs), as they share the evolution of Arc Card, including the history, the unique features of Arc, and how the system aims to improve the customer experience.
