2023 Member Renewals

The 2023 APPI and CIP member renewal process is through the new CIP/APPI portal.  Members who have not yet completed the renewal process and/or remitted their 2023 member fees  are encouraged to do so immediately to ensure there are no significant gaps in your Professional Liability Insurance coverage.  Failure to remit your 2023 member fees will result in a cessation of your APPI/CIP membership and suspension of registration. The Professional Planner Regulation does not provide for the re-instatement of former or lapsed members of APPI. If you have not received your 2023 member renewal email, or if you have any questions about your APPI/CIP membership, please email  [email protected].

Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) Reporting

All regulated APPI members (Registered Professional Planners and Candidates, including RPP and Candidate Non-Practicing) are required to report a minimum of 18 Learning Units (LU's).  Those members who are not compliant with the established criteria of the CPL program and have not reported 18 LUs for 2022, will be removed from the Register of members in good standing effective February 28, 2023, even if they have renewed their membership for 2023 and paid their corresponding member fees.

Important Information for reporting CPL

The new system will only accept a maximum of 18.0 units in one cycle. Extra activities from one cyle, to a maximum of 9.0 can be entered into the next cycle. This is not a credit and must be actual activities. We recommend that members keep an archive of their professional learning separately.

The new CIP/APPI portal requires a reset of your password.

1. Go to this page on the CIP website: PTIA Member Login | CIP (cip-icu.ca) Click on the APPI logo

2. Use your email address as the Username, then click on Forgot Password.

3. An email will be sent to that email with instructions to reset your password.

4. The Renewal Notice that was sent in November had a direct link into your profile and you did not have to log in.

Log into the new CIP/APPI portal to report your CPL activities.  PTIA Member Login | CIP (cip-icu.ca)

If you are experiencing a life change or challenge, that may prevent your ability to comply with the CPL program and would like to inquire about special consideration to reduce CPL reporting requirements, or if you require clarification about the CPL program or the reporting of your CPL, please contact Vicki Hackl at [email protected]
