This webinar will explore the evolution of two of Yellowknife's most unique neighbourhoods: Old Town and Kam Lake. The talk will examine what makes these neighbourhoods so eclectic and why seemingly conflicting land uses add to the charm of the areas.

Dustin Martin is a Community Planner with Dillon Consulting in Yellowknife. He has worked on Community Plans, Zoning Bylaws, Economic Development Strategies, and land use policy throughout the Northwest Territories.

PLAN North West Call for Submissions

Be a part of the conversation with your planning colleagues and submit an article to Plan North West.

APPI, MPPI and SPPI members and non-members may submit articles for consideration in upcoming issues of our planning publication. You may also propose an idea or abstract for consideration by the Editorial Board prior to submitting a completed piece.

Submissions can explore a range of topics and formats, including book reviews, travel experiences, lessons learned, planning history, presentation summaries, research results, and more. The length of submissions can vary between 500 and 2000 words. Having your article published in PLAN North West contributes to the planning community and provides an opportunity for professional advancement and personal satisfaction. Regulated members of the Institutes may log the time preparing articles as structured learning for their mandatory Continuous Professional Learning (CPL).

Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) Deadline Reminder

All regulated APPI members (Registered Professional Planners, including RPP Non-Practicing, and Candidate members) are required to report a minimum of 18 Learning Units (LU's) for 2021, on or before December 31, 2021.
