APPI supports World Town Planning Day (WTPD) as an opportunity to promote better understanding and awareness of Canadian planners and planning to  local communities and all levels of government.

WTPD is November 8 of each year. APPI Regional Event Committees are proud ambassadors and host various events to connect planners with the public and government representatives.

The School of Community Government through MACA in the NWT will be hosting this webinar that will provide an overview of the value of community land use planning, identifying current trends in planning in northern communities, and opportunities and challenges confronting community governments. Chris Hewitt of Municipal and Community Affairs will lead an hour-long live discussion on the topic of World Town Planning Day for Municipal and First Nations Community Government staff. This webinar qualifies for 1.0 structured learning unit.

World Town Planning Day 2018 Online Conference

On the week of November 5-9, CIP will hold a week-long online conference, which will showcase presentations on important planning issues and innovations from Canada and around the world.
Approximately two to three events will be presented daily between 12:00 and 5:00 PM Eastern time. The registration fee includes: 10 live webinars during the week-long online conference and 3 pre-recorded webinars that will be shown during the online conference
