Celebration of Planning - University of Alberta Urban and Regional Planning Program Scholarship Fundraiser

November 8, doors open at 5:30 PM

Riverview Room, Shaw Conference Centre, 9797 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton

The annual University of Alberta Celebration of Planning Program Fundraiser provides scholarships for students in the School of Urban and Regional Planning.

APPI is proud to be a Gold Sponsor of this event.
The evening will be filled with great food, drinks (host bar), and conversation.  The highlight will be some Petcha Kucha presentations from Michael Walters (Councilor – City of Edmonton), Mary Cameron (Corporate Director), and Mike House (President and CEO of the Stollery Foundation).  Each will be presenting their one ‘big idea’ (or small idea) to make Edmonton or all of Alberta’s communities a better place.

The undergraduate program in Urban and Regional Planning was launched six years ago and the Masters program launched in the Fall of 2017. Our goal is to raise the University of Alberta’s Planning Program to be the best Planning program in Canada. We don’t seek to be the largest, but rather to be the program that best prepares our graduates to address the real-world challenges that our communities face today and in the future.

The planning scholarship endowment fund allows the School to attract the best students from Alberta and across the globe. Each year the endowment grows as a result of the annual fundraiser.  Last year nearly $40,000 was raised at the fundraiser with over 175 people including many key planning and development leaders from the region in attendance.
Price: $125/person Tickets:  https://ualberta.imodules.com/PlanningGala2018-Ticketing
Charity tax receipts will be issued for part of the ticket prices (approx. $45)
