APPI's Own Top 40 Under 40

Have You Earned Your Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) Learning Units ?

Participating in the online WTPD conference is a great way to earn those last required units!

Starting Monday, November 6 through to November 10, there are a variety of one hour sessions to choose from. Click here for the program schedule. Two to three events will be streamed daily between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm Eastern Time.

Click here to register. Registration will be open until November 5th. CIP Members: $25 CND, Non-members: $45 CND and CIP Student and Retired members are free.

How to Report Non APPI Learning

The online WTPD one hour sessions qualify for 1.0 structured units and you must self report each session. On the ADD CPL page: enter the Description, click on the year 2017, enter the Activiity Date, enter the Learning Unit number - 1.0, click on the Learning Unit Type - Organized & Structured, lastly, use the 'Provider' field to enter the name of the session - WTPD Onlilne Conference Session ABC.

This is the procedure to follow to enter units for all non APPI events, conferences, courses, etc.

CPL Questions & Answers

Does any part of my work experience count for learning units? No, day to day work activities are not considered to be part of the program of continuous professional learning and hence cannot be included as such.

How do I determine what type of learning is required?

The core competencies defined for the planning profession in Canada, are required to be developed and championed by all Regulated Members throughout their careers and Members should use the core competencies to guide their learning choices.

How are the carry-over units calculated?

Each member must acquire and report 18.0 units each year, of which a maximum 9.0 units must be structured. Any surplus units reported will be carried over to the next reporting year, to a maximum of 9.0 units.
