Volunteer Opportunities with APPI - You can make a difference!

Volunteering provides members with a unique opportunity to contribute to the Institute and the profession, while broadening their professional networks and acquiring new skills. Volunteering with APPI is eligible to be logged as structured learning for the purposes of reporting mandatory Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) as it enhances professional competency.

APPI Planning Awards Committee

APPI is seeking RPP members who are interested in in serving on the Planning Awards Committee whose primary responsibility is adjudicating the annual APPI Planning Awards that acknowledge meritorious plans and projects, undertaken in whole or in part by members of the Institute, that significantly contribute to the liveability of communities in Alberta, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.

 APPI is committed to equity and diversity in positions of influence and leadership within the Institute and welcomes responses to this call for volunteers from individuals who identify as First Nations, Inuit, Metis, LGBTQ2S+, persons with disabilities, women and other marginalized or disadvantaged groups.  Members who practice and reside in rural communities are also encouraged to consider responding to this call for volunteers, as the adjudication process can be accommodated virtually.  
 
The Institute recognizes and thanks Chris Dulaba, for his past-contribution as a member and Chair of the Awards Committee.  APPI also appreciates the ongoing dedication and commitment of the current members of the 2021 Awards Committee:  Kellie Lau, RPP, Alberta Municipal Government Board Edmonton - Chair of the Planning Awards,  Dale Frietag, RPP, Lacombe County, and Claire Woodside, RPP, Stantec Calgary.
