National Professional Core Competencies Update and Call for VolunteersMembers are invited to register to participate in the up-coming process to establish Canada's planning profession’s core competencies. In early 2019, the Standards Committee (SC) initiated a project to review and update the core competencies. To achieve national consensus, an online consultation and validation process is being launched in early February 2021. Using the Delphi engagement process, select participants will receive sequential online questionnaires for the purpose of building consensus. More information and registration for anonymous participation in the Expert Panel Delphi can be found by going to: Health Canada funded study launched by Urban Systems in WinnipegAs part of this study, we have recently launched a survey that builds upon previous research to understand the current state of integration between the planning and public health professions, identify the barriers and opportunities that currently exist, and discover examples of success. The information gathered from the survey will be used to help develop targeted and useful tools for both planning and health professionals, so we are hoping to hear from a wide range of professionals in these fields to help guide the development of these resources and ensure that they adequately address the current needs of professionals in these fields.
