APPI Calgary Event - Y2Y (Yellowstone to Yukon) Regional International Conservation Initiative

Registration is closed for this event

Dr. Jodi Hilty, the President and Chief Scientist of Y2Y (Yellowstone to Yukon) will be speaking to us about Y2Y and her experiences at the head of this international conservation initiative.  She is an internationally recognized wildlife corridor ecologist and conservationist, with over 20 years of experience managing large-scale conservation programs. And she lives in Canmore!

She will be speaking about Y2Y and the latest science re conservation, wildlife corridors and climate change effects and forecasts for the mountain areas. Of particular interest will be her observations from leading multi-jurisdictional conservation initiatives – in the case of Y2Y spanning 2 countries, various states, BC, Alberta, the Yukon and many municipalities, communities and volunteer groups.  How do you make a broad-based initiative work on this scale?

A prolific researcher and writer on topics related to large landscape conservation, connectivity and climate change, Dr. Hilty has been co-editor or lead author on three recent books, most recently Corridor Ecology: Linking Landscape for Biodiversity Conservation and Climate Adaptation (2019).

Through all of her conservation work, Dr. Hilty has remained committed to protecting large, interconnected landscapes, and has offered that visionary leadership on various boards, committees and government agencies.
