APPI Edmonton Event - 124 Street Tour

Meeting in front of Evolve Strength on 102 Avenue east of 124 Street (old MEC building), Jeff will lead a
tour north along 124 Street highlighting the many development pressures/opportunities and
subsequent planning implications that 124 Street is experiencing as the area has undergone a significant
revitalization in recent years. Some of the key highlights and discussion items will include The MacLaren
development, main street corridor planning, parking, Valley Line West LRT and TOD, Substation 600,
streetscape/public realm improvements, and The Grand development.

The tour will end at the 124 Grand Market located at 124 Street and 108 Avenue. Each participant will receive a free 124 Street tote bag and a free beverage ticket (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) that can be redeemed at one of 124 Street’s fine food establishments.   

The event will continue rain or shine so dress according to the weather.

Jeff McLaren is currently the Executive Director of the 124 Street Business Association (Business Improvement Area) and has been in that position for the last nine years. Before working for the 124 Street Business Association, Jeff worked at the City of Edmonton for three years in the Business Improvement Area Unit of the Planning and Development Department and for one year in the Development Services Department of the Town of Strathmore. Jeff is a graduate of the University of Calgary, Master of Environmental Design (Planning).
