Education Session 2A 9:30 – 11:30 AM
Abundant Community
2.0 Structured Learning Units
Presented by: Deanne Patsula, RPP, MCIP Senior Planner and Ocean Luo, Community Planner, City of Edmonton
This interactive presentation will introduce attendees to this community development program and provide stories from the neighbourhood. This presentation will highlight the importance of having connected neighbourhoods and community plans and how these strengthen a sense of belonging in the place where we live. Our intent is to spark a conversation amongst planners to explore beyond the city level to think about neighbourhoods and how they have different identities and characteristics. The presenters will also introduce the Sense of Community in Neighbourhoods survey, and internationally recognized instrument, that was used city-wide in Edmonton last year.
Education Session 3A 1:30 – 3:15 PM

1.75 Structured Learning Units
Presented by: David Kosior, Senior Transit Planner, City of Calgary
