APPI Edmonton Event - This Place Matters - Historic Preservation in Edmonton

Registration is closed for this event
Many people live in and visit Edmonton and lament the apparent lack of historic buildings in our city. While many buildings have been lost over the years, dig a bit deeper and you'll find that Edmonton has an active preservation program, and more historic resources than you might think.

David Johnston, RPP, MCIP, Principal Heritage Planner with the City of Edmonton, will provide a backgrounder on Edmonton's program. Topics will include the legislative framework for heritage in Alberta, approaches that are taken to help owners make the decision to preserve places that matter, as well as the challenges faced by preservation advocates with land use planning initiatives in a growing metropolitan area.

This event qualifies for 1.0 structured unit.
