Rescheduled! APPI Edmonton Event - Mill Creek Ravine - Accidental Beach Bike Tour

Registration is closed for this event

Meet at the Mill Creek Outdoor Pool overflow parking lot.

Edmonton's river valley and ravine system is the city's most precious amenity. It has also been the focus of controversy and complex planning issues for over a century. Roll through river valley / ravine planning past, present and future with Erik Backstrom, RPP, Senior Planner, Urban Initiatives with the City of Edmonton, and other presenters on a bike tour of the Mill Creek Ravine finishing at Accidental Beach.

Topics will include transportation planning, parks and ecological planning, land use change, community activism and neighbourhood revitalization. The tour will be approximately 3 km with multiple stops. If it's a nice day (tour will go rain or shine) consider bringing a picnic lunch to enjoy at Accidental Beach after the tour.

*Please register early, as this event is capped at 25 persons.

Attendees are responsible to provide their own bicycle, helmet, water, lunch. Attendees are advised to bring sunscreen, bug repellent, a bicycle lock, and maybe a frisbee!
