Jim DiersJim Diers, renowned speaker, facilitator, and activator, is all about building community.

Jim brings more than 40 years of community development experience in Seattle and observations from his work in 17 countries to his roles assisting associations and agencies to build caring, inclusive and powerful communities.

On June 14, Jim's presentation at Roundhouse Community Centre focused on examples from around the world and within Canada of the essential role of community in transforming our relationships to each and how we engage with the world around us. Jim weaves multiple stories of community and neighbourhood-based planning projects that redefine and revitalize community-agency-government relationships and tap into often unknown or underutilized resources to revitalize everything from parks, gardens and historic buildings to the design of entire communities.
