Two years ago Edmonton was ripping out on street cycle lanes. A year ago they were working on their first major on-road protected cycleways but at a glacially slow pace. In 2016, with community pressure from Paths for People and unanimous support from the Edmonton city council, they are implementing in one go a downtown cycle grid due for completion in August where the final product is the consultation material - to be tested out and if necessary modified in real time. Learn about this amazing culture change and how cycling infrastructure can be implemented at speed from Tyler Golly (Stantec), Conrad Nobert (Paths for People) and Olga Messinis (City of Edmonton).
