We are pleased to welcome Mr. Aaron Aubin RPP, MCIP, Principal and Indigenous Engagement Specialist at Aaron Aubin Consulting Inc., as our guest speaker.

Over the past few years Canada has made tremendous efforts towards understanding its relationship and responsibilities to Indigenous peoples. Through this presentation you will:

  • ​develop a stronger understanding of the Indigenous history;
  • ​understand how the Truth and Reconcilation Commission, and the United Nations Declaration Rights of Indigenous Peoples is relevant to your job as a planner;
  • ​learn how some Canadian cities and international companies are taking up the call for reconciliation and working more effectively with Indigenouse peoples; and,
  • ​acquire some practical tools and processes for more meaningful Indigenuous engagement.

​This event qualifies for 1.0 structured learning units.
