APPI Congratulates the City of Calgary, recipient of the 2016 Great Public Space on St. Patrick’s Island.
St. Patrick’s Island is one of Calgary’s oldest parks and has been recently revitalized. It is now a giant backyard playground for residents of all ages from Calgary’s East Village and surrounding communities. APPI Meet & Greet with the University of Lethbridge Students
Thursday, November 24, 2016 4:30pm to 6:00pm at the Alberta Water and Environmental Science Building, 2nd Floor Lounge, University of Lethbridge
All students with an interest in planning are invited.
An opportunity for students to interact with practicing planners in an informal setting that will include time for conversation and even a few rounds of the popular urban planning game “cards of urbanity”.
Complementary pizza and beverages will be served!
This social event will provide U of L students with an opportunity to discuss various aspects of a career in planning with planners from around region.

Municipal Government Act (MGA) Update On May 31, 2016 the Government of Alberta (GOA) tabled Bill 21: Modernized Municipal Government Act in the Legislature. In early December, in advance of the draft regulations being posted, APPI will be sharing with its members and outline of the MGA amendments contained in the proclaimed Bill 20 or the tabled Bill 21, that specifically pertain to or have implications to planning and development across Alberta.
