Each year the Alberta Professional Planners Institute recognizes exemplary work within the planning profession. Awards acknowledge meritorious plans and projects, undertaken in whole or in part by members of the Institute, that significantly contribute to the livability of communities in Alberta, Northwest Territories and Nunavut.

APPI received sixteen submissions in response to the 2022 Call for Planning Awards.  At the 2022 APPI Planning Awards Celebration, hosted in Canmore, October 24th, the following three recipients of an APPI Planning Award of Merit were announced and celebrated. An Award of Planning Excellence or an Award of Planning Merit may be conferred.
