Participants needed for Indicators Development - Standards Committee Competency Indicators Development Working Group (PTIAs)

In early 2021, planners from across Canada were invited to participate in the development of a national Competency Profile for the Planning Profession in Canada. The draft Competency Profile has been developed for entry to practice with sample indicators, but more work still needs to be done on indicators development. We are hoping that you might be interested and available to participate in the further development of indicators for the competencies.
 
In the next week or so, Consultants from Human Resource Systems Group (HRSG) will be reaching out to planners who have expressed an interest in the competency indicators development work. Working group sessions will be held online between March 21- April 29, 2022. More details will be shared with interested participants.
 
We are looking for planners at all stages of development and experience, from a variety of types of planning, from all across Canada. In addition, there will be additional working groups to review the indicators with an equity, diversity and inclusion view. Volunteer Recognition Awards

APPI's Volunteer Recognition Program recognizes individual dedication and contributions to APPI and the planning profession more generally.

Outstanding Contribution to the Profession Award

This award recognizes long-term commitment to the Institute and volunteerism. Nominations are restricted to APPI RPP members who have a minimum ten years of service.

Volunteer of the Year Award

This award recognizes a significant contribution made in the previous year [2021] and is open to any member regulated or non-regulated. 

Exceptional Mentor Award

This award recognizes the above and beyond contribution of a RPP member in supporting the growth of a Candidate member in their professional planning practice and competence, in any capacity.

Please forward the name of your nominee(s) to the APPI office using the appropriate form for each award you are nominating the member for and include a succinct description of their contribution and why the member is worthy of the award (250 words or less) by 3:00 PM  March 31, 2022. Submit your nomination via email to the APPI office.

Student Awards

APPI annually recognizes and awards the achievement of students enrolled in post-secondary institutions with an interest in planning as a profession. Student awards are evaluated based on the entirety of the application and overall merit.The deadline for all submissions is 3:00 PM Friday, May 13, 2022.

APPI Student Essay Contest — Indigenous, Remote, Rural and Northern Planning

The award is intended to cultivate students’ interest and further study in the realm of “Indigenous, Remote, Rural, and Northern Planning", which is of paramount relevance within APPI's jurisdiction. Click here for the application form.

APPI Student Education Scholarship

The APPI Student Education Scholarship provides monetary assistance to students for tuition, research, books or other academic expenses. Click here for the application form.

APPI Student Conference Award

The APPI Student Conference Award provides monetary assistance to students attending and participating at an approved conference. Click here for the application form.

Legacy Fund Award

APPI is offering a monetary award to provide financial assistance to APPI Regulated members interested in attending and presenting planning-based information at a national or international conference, or for those engaged in research of emerging practices and innovation in the advancement of excellence in planning.
