Participants needed for Indicators Development - Standards Committee Competency Indicators Development Working Group (PTIAs)In early 2021, planners from across Canada were invited to participate in the development of a national Competency Profile for the Planning Profession in Canada. The draft Competency Profile has been developed for entry to practice with sample indicators, but more work still needs to be done on indicators development. We are hoping that you might be interested and available to participate in the further development of indicators for the competencies. Volunteer Recognition AwardsAPPI's Volunteer Recognition Program recognizes individual dedication and contributions to APPI and the planning profession more generally. Outstanding Contribution to the Profession AwardThis award recognizes long-term commitment to the Institute and volunteerism. Nominations are restricted to APPI RPP members who have a minimum ten years of service. Volunteer of the Year AwardThis award recognizes a significant contribution made in the previous year [2021] and is open to any member regulated or non-regulated. Exceptional Mentor AwardThis award recognizes the above and beyond contribution of a RPP member in supporting the growth of a Candidate member in their professional planning practice and competence, in any capacity. Please forward the name of your nominee(s) to the APPI office using the appropriate form for each award you are nominating the member for and include a succinct description of their contribution and why the member is worthy of the award (250 words or less) by 3:00 PM March 31, 2022. Submit your nomination via email to the APPI office. Student AwardsAPPI annually recognizes and awards the achievement of students enrolled in post-secondary institutions with an interest in planning as a profession. Student awards are evaluated based on the entirety of the application and overall merit.The deadline for all submissions is 3:00 PM Friday, May 13, 2022. APPI Student Essay Contest — Indigenous, Remote, Rural and Northern PlanningThe award is intended to cultivate students’ interest and further study in the realm of “Indigenous, Remote, Rural, and Northern Planning", which is of paramount relevance within APPI's jurisdiction. APPI Student Education ScholarshipThe APPI Student Education Scholarship provides monetary assistance to students for tuition, research, books or other academic expenses.
