Call for Submissions!

APPI annually recognizes and awards the achievement of students enrolled in post-secondary institutions with an interest in planning as a profession. Student awards are evaluated based on the entirety of the application and overall merit.The deadline for all submissions is 3:00 PM Friday, May 13, 2022.

APPI Student Essay Contest — Indigenous, Remote, Rural and Northern Planning

The award is intended to cultivate students’ interest and further study in the realm of “Indigenous, Remote, Rural, and Northern Planning", which is of paramount relevance within APPI's jurisdiction. Click here for the application form.

APPI Student Education Scholarship

The APPI Student Education Scholarship provides monetary assistance to students for tuition, research, books or other academic expenses. Click here for the application form.

APPI Student Conference Award

The APPI Student Conference Award provides monetary assistance to students attending and participating at an approved conference. Click here for the application form.

Legacy Fund 2022 Call for Submission

APPI is offering a monetary award to provide financial assistance to APPI Regulated members interested in attending and presenting planning-based information at a national or international conference, or for those engaged in research of emerging practices and innovation in the advancement of excellence in planning.

Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation  Training For Professional Planners 

The Climate Risk Institute, All One Sky Foundation and Wallace Insights, in collaboration with the Provincial and Territorial Institute and Association Partners and with funding support from Natural Resource Canada’s Building Regional Adaptation Capacity and Expertise program, have developed a suite of climate change training modules focused on climate change adaptation for Prairie Region Planners.   

The online program brings together knowledge of climate change science and data, risk assessment, adaptation planning, policy, and tools and strategies for adaptation informed by the deep experience of practitioners in the field, and supported by an Advisory Committee of academic, municipal, and private sector members.
