September 30th National Day for Truth & Reconciliation

September 30th has been declared National Day for Truth and Reconciliation to provide an opportunity for Canadians to recognize and commemorate the legacy of residential schools. A number of Professional Regulatory Organizations, including AAFMP, ASPB, AALA and APPI have created a resource document for corporations and individuals who wish to better understand the history and legacy of residential schools, the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, Treaties and Aboriginal rights, Indigenous law, and Aboriginal-Crown relations.

The resources included are both formal and informal learning and all can be claimed as continuing competence activities.

This document is not intended to be an exhaustive list of resources, but a scan of material that is available. If we have provided anything that is inappropriate, please let us know. Please use this link for more information or to download the pdf file.
