Continuous Professional Learning Opportunities!

NACITE and APPI are happy to partner with Rapid Fire Theatre to present - Improv and City Building!

Monday June 7, 7:00 - 9:30 PM

Click here to register and pay online.

No one said City Building is Easy - plans to make, processes to follow, documents to have signed... it’s a lot to handle...

But you’re trying your best. You’re adapting. Some might even say you’re... improvising?

Which is why NACITE and APPI are happy to partner with Rapid Fire Theatre, Edmonton’s most esteemed improv comedy company, for an evening of improv-based networking and learning. You'll discover how improv can make you better at your job and you'll get to know a few people virtually so you remember how to interact face-to-face (whenever that happens again).

Because here’s the thing: there’s more overlap between ‘Improv Skills’ and ‘City Building’ than you might think, and this event will prove it, all while being the most fun you’ve had on a zoom call since you figured out day drinking was a thing.

The Northern Alberta Section of CITE (Canadian Institute of Transportation Engineers). This session qualifies for 2.5 structured learning units.

Collaboration with others is essential for getting things done in a time of scarce resources. This is no less the case for professional planners – be they private or public sector. Collaboration for Planners can be peer to peer within their own organizations, between difference organizations, between the private and public sectors and between different levels of government.  Often Planners prepare their work for politicians to decide upon - a key to having such recommendations accepted is to demonstrate it was achieved through collaboration with others.

The moderator and guest panelists  draw upon their experiences and successes at bridging gaps between levels of government, politicians and administration, the public and private sectors and the urban and rural sectors and to explore how planners might pursue collaboration to improve public and private development decisions and better outcomes for their communities.
