On September 21-23 join us virtually, along with planners and members of the public from around Alberta, Canada and the world, for the 2020 APPI Virtual conference: BEYOND SUCCESS: GROWTH BY FAILURE.

Wait, what? Yup, you read that right. This year our conference theme, BEYOND SUCCESS: GROWTH BY FAILURE, will have us talking about a topic often avoided but one from which much can be learned.

When was the last time you failed at something? Maybe it was the 1990’s, maybe a decade ago, or maybe it was this morning. We’ve all experienced times when things didn’t proceed as anticipated. As planners, how do we learn from past experiences, build positive relationships, innovate, and anticipate?

When addressing persistent themes like political directions, economic challenges, climate change, technological advancement, social and cultural diversification, the lines between failure and success are not always clear. By sharing our stories and stumbles, we can encourage iterative learning and creativity in addressing challenges!

This year’s conference will be hosted online and, with the help of our digital partners, streamed directly to your desktop or mobile device. However, just like other years, there will still be a diverse range of high-caliber content to satisfy your learning needs.

Our offerings include a panel session, a legal session and a keynote speaker in addition to many other speakers sharing their insights. Networking opportunities will be delivered in an online environment to energize and to connect with industry leaders, colleagues, old and new friends.

As this year’s conference will be held online, we hope to attract an audience not only from Alberta, but from the rest of Canada and beyond!

The conference session schedule will be posted when confirmed. Please register for the 2020 Conference before September 9, 2020. Refunds will not be issued, and registrations are not transferable. The fee includes unlimited access to the conference webinars for one year by delegates only. All sessions qualify for structured learning units.
