APPI Calgary Events Committee presents - Politics in Planning – Lessons and Insights from the Local Media Perspective

Wednesday, October 30, 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM
Tivilo Hall, The Danish Canadian Club, 727 11 Avenue, Calgary

As traditional media is struggling to stay relevant in a day of immediate news availability through social media, and local news sources are being swallowed up by national companies, there is growing concern about the loss of quality, local journalism. This, however, has led to new and innovative opportunities for the provision of local news. Join us for a panel discussion with Richard White, founder of the Everyday Tourist Blog, who often writes about his own urban experiences in Calgary and the surrounding region, and Darren Krause, founder of Livewire Calgary, a crowd-funded local news source that focuses on producing balanced stories that Calgarians want to hear about.

This event qualifies for 1.0 structured learning unit. Click here to register and pay online.
