Volunteer Opportunity! City of Edmonton’s Urban Design Working Committee Preparing Design Guiding Principles and Design Guidelines for Tall Buildings

APPI has been invited to put forward a representative to serve on the City of Edmonton’s Urban Design Working Committee tasked with preparing urban design guiding principles and design guidelines for tall buildings. The project team of internal and external stakeholders is scheduled to compete its project work by December 2018.

If you are a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) and interested in being considered as APPI’s representative, please send an email confirming your interest to the APPI Office along with cover letter addressed to MaryJane Alanko, APPI Executive Director, and a resume of no more than two single-sided pages by 3:00 PM, Thursday, April 5, 2018. APPI thanks all interested members for their willingness to represent their professional institute, however, depending on the number received, the final decision of one appointee will be determined by APPI Council.

APPI North - 'An overview of Indigenous Communities and Governments, Engagement Practices, and Relationship Building in NWT'

Planners in the City of Yellowknife are invited to an event to hear two informative presentations on Indigenous Communities and Governments, Engagement Practices, and Relationship Building from both the consultant and intergovernmental experience. The presentations will be followed by a social.

•             5:30 PM - arrive at Dillon
•             5:45-7:00 PM  - presentations
•             7:00-8:00 PM  - social at the Black Knight Pub

The 2018 APPI Annual Volunteer Awards and Appreciation Celebration will be held on Friday, April 27 at the Lodge at Snow Valley in Edmonton. At this annual event APPI celebrates the contributions of APPI volunteers, recognizes newly certified RPP members, and acknowledges the recipients of the APPI Student, Legacy, and Volunteer Recognition Awards. Invitation letters are being mailed to all recipients.
