APPI Calgary Events Committee presents -

'Intensifying Chinook Centre: a collaborative approach to redevelopment'

Wednesday, January 24, 2018, 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM

*New Location* The Danish Canadian Club in Tivoli Hall, 727 11 Avenue SW, Calgary

CF Chinook Centre is one of North America’s most productive malls; the existing regional shopping centre attracts top retailers and is a regional destination for shopping in the Calgary area. Future investment at Chinook Centre will transform the southeast portion of the site into a mixed-use hub that could include retail, structured parking, residential, office and hotel uses.

Join Breanne Harder with The City of Calgary, Vern Hart with B&A Planning Group, and Greg Jones with Cadillac Fairview for a presentation on the history, the future, the collaborative approach to developing a Direct Control District and the policy framework that will see the greater Chinook-Manchester area intensify over time.

This event qualifies for 1.0 structured learning unit.

APPI Edmonton Events Committee presents -

'The State of Alberta's Water Resources and Wetlands'

Tuesday, January 9, 2018, 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM

Papaschase Room, 2nd level, University of Alberta Faculty Club, 11435 Saskatchewan Drive, Edmonton

The history of water rights dates back to 1886 in Alberta, when the first water apportionment license was given to the Eastern Irrigation District. Since that time, the Province has moved away from single- lens resource management and embraced a systems-thinking approach by managing Alberta’s water resources on the watershed scale.

Join biologist Jay White as he discusses the state of Alberta’s water resources and wetlands, the challenges of water management in Alberta and the impacts that Land Use Planners and Urban Planners need to be aware of.

This event qualifies for 1.0 structured learning unit.

Please note the rates for 2018 that include GST are:
APPI Member $ 38.00

Students $ 35.00
