Volunteer Opportunities with APPI - You can make a difference!

Volunteering provides members with a unique opportunity to contribute to the Institute and the profession, while broadening their professional networks and acquiring new skills. Volunteering with APPI is eligible to be logged as structured learning for the purposes of mandatory Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) as it enhances professional competency. APPI has the following new volunteer opportunities available. 

Volunteers required for consideration as APPI's nominee to serve on the Calgary Planning Commission (CPC) - APPI has been invited to put forward one non-binding nomination for appointment to the CPC. If you are a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) and interested in being considered as APPI’s nominee to serve on the CPC, please send an email to the APPI office confirming your interest and attach a cover letter addressed to the Chair of the Commission and a personal resume of no more than two single-sided pages to the APPI office by August 1, 2017.

Call for 2018 APPI Conference Co-Chairs

APPI is seeking Regulated Members in good standing, who are interested in committing themselves to Co-Chair the 2018 APPI Conference.

The Co-Chairs serve as the primary hosts of the APPI annual conference.  In addition to developing the conference theme and program, responsibilities include but are not limited to developing and managing the conference budget, soliciting sponsorship opportunities, organizing sub committees, ensuring tasks are carried out and chairing conference committee meetings.  This work is all carried out with the assistance and support of APPI administration, Council and the Conference Committee. Please submit a letter with your expression of interest and resume to the APPI office via email [email protected]  by noon August 18, 2017. The expression of interest letter should include a proposed theme for the 2018 APPI Conference that promotes the exchange of information, ethical professional planning, diversity, and the sharing of ideas that support APPI’s members, their work, and the planning community.

Call for Proposals - International multidisciplinary landscape architecture competition for the design of Place des Montrealaises

The competition is international in scope and will be held in two stages: Stage 1 consists of anonymous proposals, while in Stage 2, a maximum of five jury-selected finalists will submit service offerings, for which they will be compensated. To learn more click here.
