IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY INSURANCE FOR 2023

Webinar on October 26, 1:00 to 2:00 PM EST.

Dear APPI Members,

This email contains important and time-sensitive information about your membership and renewing your Professional Liability Insurance for 2023, so please read carefully.

CIP, in partnership with the Provincial Territorial Institutes and Associations (PTIAs), is preparing to launch a new and improved shared member database and Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) system. This system will provide PTIA members with a much-improved and refined user experience, including a step-by-step online renewal process.

With the new database set to launch in November, we would like to share some important information and changes for this year’s renewal process and the purchasing of Professional Liability Insurance.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW

The earlier timeframe for renewals is due to two important changes to APPI’s insurance program with BMS Group:

1.     In order to keep your insurance and avoid a gap in coverage, APPI must have either received your PLI premium payment or received confirmation of your intention to pay, before December 31, 2022, which can be done through our new renewal process.

2.    Before you can purchase PLI for 2023, you will be required to review two questions which will be included in your renewal letter. Depending on your response to these questions, some action may be required. However, this should not impact your ability to secure or renew your insurance policy.

To better understand your insurance coverage, claims and the renewal policy process, join our insurance partner BMS Canada Risk Services Ltd for an informative webinar on

October 26 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM EST.

A recording of the webinar being available post-event and information on how to access will be shared later and posted on the APPI website.

Member renewal notices for 2023 will be issued in November/early December, so please watch for the email from APPI.  It will include a unique link to renew your membership and PLI.

APPI is happy to share that the PLI premium rate will remain unchanged at $44.00 for 2023!
