The webinar login credentials will be included with your registration email confirmation. You may set up your registration in GoTo Webinar prior to the date and time that will enable reminders be sent to you. The sessions qualify for 1.0 structured learning unit.

The sessions will provide an overview of the Professional Code of Practice governing regulated planners in the APPI jurisdiction. The code will be the central focus of the course and will be used to generate group discussion about issues confronting planners working in the public service and private industry. This discussion will help planners address a range of questions including:

  • Who to go to for advice?
  • How does the Code provide a moral/ethical foundation?
  • How can APPI help with difficult issues?

Roy Wright RPP, MCIP

Roy has practised urban and regional planning in BC, Alberta and Pennsylvania for more than 40 years. He is a principal at Roan Consulting Ltd., a boutique urban and rural planning firm.  His primary clients are government agencies and not for profit entities such as the Calgary Stampede. His focus is the delivery of land use and development programs at the municipal, regional and provincial levels of government.  Roy has also served as an expert witness in planning matters.

He was a Member of the Calgary Planning Commission and stepped down in 2017 after serving six years as a Commissioner.  Roy has been a Member of the APPI Discipline committee since 2008 and has chaired the group since 2014.

Greg Birch RPP, MCIP

Greg Birch has over thirty years of rich and diverse experience in municipal planning and management. He has worked for rural and urban governments, for regional planning organizations, and in the private sector. His practice has included oil and gas projects and market studies, municipal annexations, a host of municipal planning documents and bylaws, wildlife corridor establishment policy, multi-jurisdiction recreational trail development, transfer of development credit regulations, potable water system construction, solid waste collection systems, and municipal management.  Greg currently volunteers on APPI’s Discipline Committee and is CIP’s appointee to the Professional Standards Board.

The sessions are free, however pre-registration is required and each session is limited to twenty egistrants. There is no need to register more than one offering as the content will be the same for each session. The sessions will not be recorded or shared. These webinars are not part of the subscription offer.
