APPI Strategic Plan AmendmentsIn February 2020, the Institute released the APPI Strategic Plan 2020 – 2023. Following development of the current Strategic Plan, a worldwide response to systemic racism arose, along with an expectation that society would come together to embrace true human rights and equality, and a corresponding commitment to individual self-education to deepen our collective knowledge of historic injustices. In response, Council has approved amendments to the Strategic Plan to add a new goal within the Advocacy & Partnerships strategic priority, “Demonstrate leadership in planning for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)”, and has identified three new actions to achieve this goal. The electronic invoice is your official invoice for the purposes of payment and a hard copy of the invoice will not be mailed unless you make a specific request to the APPI office. Member renewal fees are due by January 4, 2021. If you have not received your invoice by December 11, 2020, please email [email protected]. Consequences of 2020 Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) Non-Compliance AND/OR Not Renewing Membership for 2021The Professional Planner Regulation does not provide for the re-instatement of former or lapsed members of APPI. Therefore, if you are experiencing challenging circumstances that may prevent you from meeting your regulated member obligation of 2020 CPL compliance and/or paying your 2021 member fees, you are encouraged to contact the APPI office immediately, rather than let your membership lapse. There is no option for those who are removed from the roster for 2020 CPL non-compliance and/or non-payment of their 2021 fees, to be reinstated at a later date. Members who are removed from the APPI roster for 2020 CPL non-compliance and/or failure to remit their 2021 member fees, and who wish to rejoin the Institute in the future, must re-apply as new members and re-certify via the processes in place and via the Professional Standards Board for the Planning Profession in Canada APPI Planning and Volunteer Awards
