Given the interactive nature of the Virtual Coffee Break, this activity may be deemed to be structured, but the expectation is that members adjust the time reported to reflect the portion of time dedicated to learning, versus the social component.

APPI Call for Volunteers

APPI has been invited to put forward non-binding nominations for potential appointment to the Calgary Planning Commission and the Calgary Urban Design Review Panel.

If you are a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) and interested in being considered as one of APPI’s non-binding nominations to serve in one of these capacities, please send an email to the APPI office confirming your interest and attach both a cover letter and a personal resume of no more than two single-sided pages by 3:00 PM on Thursday,  August 27, 2020.

Survey Results – Second Homes Study – Dalhousie University Graduate’s Master’s Thesis
Farzana Karim, a 2019 graduate of Dalhousie University, as part of a Master’s Thesis, did an online survey from September 2017 to April 2018 whose purpose was to find out to what extent current municipal planners perceive second homes/rental homes as an issue for municipal planning and emergency management. The full text of the thesis is now available online and can be downloaded at Dalspace of Dalhousie University: http://hdl.handle.net/10222/76776.
