The revitalization of communities’ downtowns has become a hot topic over the last several years, and in particular over the last two years, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and residents transitioning to working from home. Significant efforts have gone into transforming Calgary’s downtown into a great place to work, play, and live. This work culminated in the development of Calgary’s Greater Downtown Plan. It received $200 million in initial funding and sets the framework for transitioning Calgary’s downtown into an economic and cultural hub for years to come.
