NEST CITY COMMUNITY OF CIVIC PRACTICE

Let’s gather to support each other and offer our best selves to our communities and cities.

WHY: The work we do in our communities and cities is changing in our upside-down world. What we do, how we do it, why we do it is in question. There are challenges and opportunities before us. Who do you choose to be? Who do we choose to be? This is dedicated time to receive and offer support so we can offer our best selves to our communities and cities.

HOW: We will meet on Zoom four times, for 90 minutes each time. Beth will offer a light structure for each call, beginning and ending each call with a process to hear everyone’s voice. The middle of each call will depend on the needs of the group. You can expect us to shift from working together as a large group, to smaller groups, and back and forth. We will commit to a set of agreements that will enable us to create a safe environment to have brave and courageous conversations.

WHAT: This is dedicated time you give to yourself to explore the professional you are becoming, the challenges and opportunities we face. We will gather and share experiences, worries, excitement, possibilities, and develop a “plan” for yourself.

WHO: A small, intimate group of no more than 15 participants. You are willing to explore how personal and professional experience weave together to make you the civic practitioner you are. You may be early in your career, or refired looking for your next contribution, or somewhere in-between.

WHEN: We will meet 4 times, on June 12, June 26, July 10 and July 24 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm on Zoom. (Beth has been using Zoom for online gatherings for 9 years and has layers of security settings set up.)
