Join Cassandra Caiger from Intelligent Futures in the exploration of core elements of our food system.

She will share her insights on the various roles planners can play in building and supporting local and regional food, while using storytelling, to illustrate the opportunities and challenges that exist in addressing food security in our cities and regions. 

Since 2013, Cassandra has been the Engagement Lead for Calgary-based Intelligent Futures. She has brought thousands of people together to explore issues as diverse as food security, social wellness, urban redevelopment, environmental initiatives, electric vehicles, affordable housing, cultural plans and urban agriculture. Through her work, Cassandra exemplifies two key qualities essential for the 21st-century planner: the ability to effectively navigate varied issues surrounding the building of our communities and the necessary skills to bring citizens, stakeholders and experts into shared conversations about the future. 

With her unique talent to demystify complex planning issues and make them accessible for the general public, Cassandra has helped give the community a voice in many wide-ranging city-building processes. She brings informed and well- rounded views into her planning policy and design work, demonstrating the ability to see new perspectives that shape and improve planning efforts.
