APPI Tour - Yellowknife by Bike

Over the past 10 to 15 years, cyclists in Yellowknife have lobbied for better infrastructure and promotion of bicycles as a transportation choice in all seasons.  This guided bike tour will visit a number of sites around the city to see what these efforts have produced.  During the ride information will be shared about the history behind things we may take for granted today.

Please meet at 5:30 pm in front of City Hall (next to the muskox). After a short introduction we will begin the ride. This bike route will be approximately 8 km (along pretty level ground, so no super biking skills required).  With stops along the way we expect to be finished before 7:00 pm, in time for refreshments at our local brew pub.

You will need a bike, helmet and water bottle. It is recommended that you dress in layers, so that you can adjust for weather and activity levels.

This tour qualifies for 1.5 structured learning units.

There is not a fee to participate, however you must register by email Amanda Brea-Watson by email at [email protected]
