APPI Volunteer Recognition Program
APPI is a professional organization that is largely run by volunteers. APPI's Volunteer Recognition Program recognizes individual dedication and contributions to APPI and the planning profession more generally. You have the opportunity to nominate one of your colleagues for the contributions that they have made to the Institute in one of the following two categories:
Outstanding Contribution to the Profession Award
This award recognizes long-term commitment to the Institute and volunteerism. Nominations are restricted to APPI regulated members who have a minimum ten years of service. Nominees must have demostrated exemplary leadership and have contributed to the Institute in a number of capacities.
Volunteer of the Year Award
This award recognizes a significant contribution made in the previous year - 2016. This award is open to any member regulated or non-regulated. Nominees must have made an outstanding contribution to the Institute serving on an APPI Committee or initiative, or alternatively representing APPI on a specific project or initiative at the national level.
Please forward the name of your nominee to the APPI office stating which award you are nominating the member for and include a succinct description of their contribution (250 words or less, referencing in what capacity they have served, such as committees, council, etc) by 3:30pm March 17, 2017. Include your name and contact information for future follow-up.

Following the close of the nominations, the awards will be adjudicated by the APPI Volunteer Recognition Committee and the recipients will be honoured at the APPI Volunteer Celebration in Calgary on Thursday April 27, 2017.
