APPI Council Call for Nominations
The term of office for three members of the Alberta Professional Planners Institute (APPI) Council will conclude at the next Annual General Meeting (AGM) and nominees are required to fill these three Councillor positions. All three of the positions are for a two-year term commencing April 27, 2017. In addition, there is also one position on Council that was vacated midterm and a nominee is required to fill that vacant Councillor position for a one-year term commencing April 27, 2017.
The APPI Nominating Committee is tasked with the duty of presenting the membership with a full slate of nominees for vacant positions on Council and at this time the Committee is actively recruiting potential volunteers. If you are interested in running for a position on APPI Council, or if you would like additional information about serving on APPI Council, please contact the Institute Office.
Regulated members, either Registered Professional Planners (RPP) or Candidate members, may nominate themselves or be nominated by others to serve on Council. Any number of Candidate members may be nominated for Councillor but no more than two Candidate members may serve at one time. Any nominee for Council that is not nominated by the APPI Nominating Committee must submit a completed APPI Nomination and Nominee Declaration Form, signed by two Regulated members, neither of whom may be the individual nominated. Each nominee for APPI Council must also submit an election APPI Nominee Platform.
All nominations must be filed with the Nomination Committee via the APPI Office on or before Tuesday February 28, 2017. Nominations may be submitted by email to [email protected] or by mail or fax:

If the number of nominees exceeds the number of vacant positions, ballots with voting instructions and nominees’ platform sheets will be mailed in advance of the AGM to all APPI members eligible to vote. This year's AGM is Thursday April 27, 2017, in Calgary. Anyone considering serving on APPI Council should be aware that the 2017 APPI Council Strategic Retreat is scheduled for the weekend of May 26-28, 2017, at Pigeon Lake, Alberta, and there is an expectation that all members of Council attend this Institute visioning exercise.
